As you step through the pole (entrance doorway) at Dera Mandawa, time slows its pace to usher you into the leisurely luxuries of an era gone by. Leaving behind the hullabaloo of the streets of Jaipur, you get transported into the tranquility and hospitality of traditional Rajasthani charm. Dera Mandawa is a confluence of influences, adorned with Rajasthani jharokhas (awnings) and arches mixed with British inspired doorframes. Highlighting the calm mood are the colorful local motifs, quiet nooks and corners with only chirping of birds and scurry of squirrels breaking the silence, and natural light in abundance. 11 Suites – Built on two levels, the air-conditioned suites comprise of lobby / galleries, a study and a bedroom.
The beds are spacious and comfortable; the baths are clean and have running cold and hot water. You are assured of a relaxed and restful stay even with a family of four. You can select from an array of breakfast options offered, from sumptuous Rajasthani morning meal, to your choice of eggs, toast, fruits, fresh juices, etc. Please inform us in advance and we’ll be more than happy to organize lunch/dinner at Dera Mandawa in case you so require.
Between Jodhpur and Udaipur, this 17 th century Boutique Hotel has been carefully renovated style with a modern feel. Hidden away in a small, sleepy village, in the heart of the Aravalli Hills, at the foot of a huge, granite rock, surrounded by forested hills and rocky outcrops, the area is reminiscent of a Rajasthan that few see today and is in one of the most beautiful parts of the state. Being so close to Ranakpur and Kumbhalgarh, it is the perfect stopping off point on a journey between Jodhpur and Udaipur and could not be more rewarding. Rawla Narlai is a delightful 17 th century property which was once a favourite hunting lodge of the Jodhpur Royal Family. It is still owned by memebers of the Jodhpur family who have invested vast amounts of time, monet, love and care into restoring this little gem. Over the years it has transformed from a simple lodge into a stunning, stylish boutique hotel albeit with all its original character and structure retained. The rooms are scattered all around the property and each varies significantly in shape, size and décor. There are also some fine, contemporary tents in the garden by the pertty swimming pool.
